Before Christianity existed, spiritual well-being was intricately connected with physical well-being. Jesus is recorded in the gospels as focusing much of his ministry on healing. He describes the greatest commandment as being to love God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength.
Human beings are whole persons.
Christianity has for too many years attempted to separate the spiritual from the fleshly. We reject any such division and try to work with the whole person.
Both Tim and Clare work within the National Health Service at board level, trying to ensure that healing and wholeness are available to all by reducing 'health inequalities.' Clare is a non-executive director of Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust. Tim is Chair of Tameside Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
As well as this, the church runs a number of health related projects, which you can read about by clicking the links to the left.
